Figuring Out Cat Behavior In Your Pet

Are you concerned with how your favorite feline has been acting recently? Before you go getting too worried, read up on cat behavior. It could well be that your cat is acting perfectly normal, even if he or she is exhibiting new behaviors.

Cats are strange animals, especially compared to other domesticated animals. Dogs come running to us, wag their tails and lick us to death when we enter the house or room. They seem to need us as much as we need them when it comes to companionship. This simply isn't true of cat behavior.

Cats are pretty solitary animals. Most of the time, you won't get any affection from them until they're ready for it. They will come to you when they're ready for some love and many times if you try to give it to them unsolicited, you'll pay the price.

There are cats that seem to always be confused. This seems to be pretty normal cat behavior, actually. If your cat doesn't seem to come when you call its name or turn its head when you speak to it, don't jump to the conclusion that your cat is hard of hearing. It seems that cats can be pretty stubborn.

If your cat behavior is troubling you, get online and look up information on the particular breed that your cat is. Different breeds have different characteristics and traits that they exhibit. One cats behavior may vary widely from the cat behavior of your feline.

Not eating, refusing to use the litter box or lethargy are things that you need to pay attention to. If your cat that is typically playful and loving suddenly becomes withdrawn and sleeps all day and night, contact your vet.

Though it's hard to read cat behavior, if you pay enough attention to what your pet is doing, you should be able to figure out whether or not you have an issue that needs to be addressed by a veterinarian.
