Know Your Cat Health Symptoms
When your favorite pet is acting funny, you're bound to be concerned. If you know what cat health symptoms to look for, you can more easily help diagnose what the problem may be. Of course, without the authority of a veterinarian, you may not know exactly what is wrong.
However, you'll be more apt to know whether or not you need to get your cat to a vet immediately if you know what symptoms mean trouble and what symptoms are less urgent. Cats can be fickle animals, so it's best to pay very close attention to them if you are concerned that there is a problem with their health.
Cats like to sleep alike, particularly during the day, so make sure that you are aware of your cats schedule if you're not usually around during the day when he or she sleeps. What you perceive as lethargy may just be a routine nap. Your cat will give you some clues into what is wrong, if, in fact, anything is wrong, at all.
If your cat has a very wet and runny nose, you may have cause for concern. Hot noses don't always mean trouble, but in general, cats have dry noses. Check to see if your cat's eyes are also looking runny if you suspect they have a runny nose. If the cat is vomiting a lot or has a lot of diarrhea, you need to keep an eye on them, as well.
If your cat has blood in their stool, get him or her to a doctor immediately. This may signal a bigger health problem. If your cat has suddenly lost interest in eating and playing, keep a close eye to see if this behavior continues.
If your cat is ever doing anything that makes you worry, make sure you know cat health symptoms that should cause alarm. Use your best judgment and when in doubt, call your vet.
